Bonjour je suis Anaïs

picture of Anais

Anaïs Vella is a native French speaker who lives between Madrid and London. She was born in 1988 in the south of France, near Saint-Tropez.

She specialises in teaching French to adults and children of all levels and is DBS-checked. She holds two Master’s degrees, one in Education and one in Law, from the University of Nice.

Anaïs began teaching French in 2012, when she moved to Bristol from the sunny city of Cannes. Over the years, she has worked with thousands of students from all over the world and developed the method she has set out in her collection of books.

In 2019, she founded Anais & Co, a language school specialising in French. She continues to teach and oversees all teaching delivery.

She is passionate about teaching and is a highly sociable and friendly tutor. She believes that a good teacher should be fully dedicated to their clients’ learning journey, always enthusiastic, and willing to push them to exceed their expectations.

Anaïs speaks French, English, Italian, and Spanish, and is currently studying Russian. She values putting herself in her students’ position, as she believes it helps her become a better teacher.

In her private life, Anaïs is a mother of four children, who are being brought up in a trilingual environment at a British school in Madrid.

I have just completed Book One and the end-of-book assessment. Anais has taught me so well, and her teaching method really works. I am now able to read new words with confidence using her approach. I look forward to every lesson and genuinely enjoy learning with her. She is personable, engaging and constantly encouraging. To anyone serious about learning French, I wholeheartedly recommend Anais and Co.

Structured approach

Every lesson follows the Structured French methodology that we have refined over more than a decade. Rather than relying on improvised conversations or disconnected exercises, our curriculum follows a carefully designed progression where vocabulary, grammar, pronunciation and conversation develop together. Each lesson is supported by our collection of twelve books, ensuring every student benefits from the same structured learning experience.
